Older Dogs...
One of the most difficult aspects of a breeder who treats their dogs as family members is to come to grips with the "business side" of breeding. In order for CPL to continue to bless our future CPL families is to have the availability of quality puppies. In breeding it is inevitable that there will be a breeding timeline for our dogs and as our dogs get older we know that at some point they will be retired. Our dogs are our family members and their health and happiness is paramount to us. It has been a difficult aspect of our breeding program to let our adult dogs go but we have been blessed to do life with them while we have them and we know that they become a great blessing to their new families.
When our dogs are of the age to be retired we consider making them available to a family who desires to have a "completed" dog to bring into their home. For many people this type of dog is much desired as they do not have to go through the "puppy stage" which is more applicable to their situation.
"Re-Homing" our adult dogs is a different process from our puppy breeding. Our adult dogs have gone through extensive genetic and physical examinations. They have been basic obedience and "E Collar" trained. They have been crate trained. They have been potty trained. Over the course of their life time they have had literally thousands of dollars invested in them to ensure that they have experienced the best life possible! They have been loved on by us for all of their lives and we love them dearly!!! They are simply the best dogs one could have and we are very particular who will have the honor of bringing these dogs into their home.

In March of 2025 Ginger was placed in the home of the Bertsch's.
She is now filling the life of her new human Houston, with joy and companionship.
